lyrics

Verse1:
He feels the pressure rising
He hoped he’d make it hiding
He’s not the kind of person
That does the things he’s done
He was born into a loving family with a younger sister and a beautiful home
Torn apart by war and violence bonds were broken, kids left alone
They were just normal children
Who could’ve seen that comin‘

Chorus1:
He hears them slowly comin‘ up the stairs
He sees them slowly pushin‘ down the handle

Verse2:
Two kids lost all they had
And left the rest behind
Sleepless nights amongst the other empty faces
Endless days under the burning sun, there’s no shadow on the ocean
He had to care for her, since he was all that she had left
He didn’t have a choice, and had to do as they had said

Chorus2:
He smells like fear, has given up
The pills he took left a sour taste

Bridge:
What else could this boy have done so far away from home
They said they’d first take his sister and then come for him
He thought he could make it up someday, but he he was wrong
He feels so guilty, but this can’t be called a live worth living

Chorus3:
He doesn’t feel a thing a they’re coming in
He just feels numb as they approach
He doesn’t feel the bat crackin‘ his teeth
But feels the urge to say I’m sorry
